I have always had a visual talent for photography, although I did not just pick up a camera and decide to become a professional photographer. I have a BFA in Photography and spent 6 years studying fine art photography at Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California. I am NOT a natural light photographer. I am a trained professional and my skills are way more advanced than just point and shoot natural light photography. I am certified and skilled in professional lighting and absolutely LOVE what I do!
I am also a mother of two wild and amazing kids. I photograph them all the time. They help me create and I also love supporting them in their artistic creations. My small business helps support them and I enjoy what I do creating for others.
Choosing my photography services means opting for a blend of artistry, professionalism, and genuine connection. My extensive experience ensures that I understand how to bring out the best in every subject, crafting images that tell your unique story. My approachable demeanor and commitment to making every session enjoyable and relaxed, I capture moments in a way that allows you to relive them for years to come.
I capture memories. Memories to hold and cherish and memories for you and your family, in order to hold time still. We never will hold those memories ever again. Only in a photograph I can create beautiful visuals and capture your adventures, your life, your sweetest memories.
Watching a movie the other night, a phrase really made me realize a confidence every artists needs. "The best stories are the ones we tell ourselves." As artists, we do not always have the commercial space we desire to create our visions, but having the confidence and strength to make our creations wherever we can, is what keeps us going. Steve Jobs created the beginning of the Apple computer and company in his garage! It doesn't matter where we start, the location we are inspired in, or where we make things happen in order to be who we want to be. What matters is we never give up and keep creating.
MY IN HOME STUDIO:
Before the pandemic, I was operating a portrait studio in the Santa Cruz mountains. I temporarily closed my studio due to the spread of Covid-19 and the safety of my clients. Preparing to open after the pandemic, a devastating wildfire in our area forced us to move locations. The dream to own another commercial studio has been put on pause for the moment. This dream is still in the plans, but for now, I am doing what I do best in a home based studio. I converted space in my home into a portrait studio that provides a workspace to be able to capture children portraits, newborn, and small family sessions. I also work out of a rented studio in Santa Clara if you prefer a commercial space. There is an option to request this studio for an additional fee during booking. Although, the commercial studio cannot be requested for any splash or themed sessions.
